Steven and Eleanor lost their great-uncle Rex this weekend. They were fortunate to get to meet him at Christmas and to get to spend some time with him.
Rex was a very tenderhearted, sweet man - if there was one solid, unshakeable thing in his life, it was his love for his family. He wouldn't think twice before giving his nephews the metaphorical shirt off his back (or, once, the literal shoes off his feet).
He was so thrilled to spend time with his great-nephews and great-niece at Christmas, and I'm so glad we have these memories of him to share with them.
